Which is better, having a cottage or a pool?

We’d be back onto our bean and our empty nesters. I want a pool and my hubby wants a cottage. What would you do? We can’t do both.

To be honest, I would buy a cottage, but that’s more my investor’s mind because I just think you have a cottage.

When you’re not there, you rent it out. But if, for example, you’re not gonna rent it out, then obviously you could get the pool. But if you get the cottage, then the value of your home will increase. Yes, your home is worth more because it has a pool, but not as much as another fully detached condo by the lake, etc.
