Turning Bedroom into Bathroom

“We have put in a new kitchen and partially finished the basement. I want to take over the laundry room and change one bedroom to ensuite. What do you think?”

If it’s resold, I’ll go look at other houses. For example, let’s say you have a three-bedroom, one-bathroom home. And then I would look for other houses in your area that only have two bedrooms, then you’d only be two if you took one away and two bathrooms with that on suite to say for 150,000 more than you and it’s only going to cost you 30,000 to do, then sure.

But if they’re only $20,000 more than you and you have to pay $60,000, then clearly the math is wrong. If it’s three or two bedrooms it’s not ideal. If it’s a four-bedroom apartment or a three-bedroom apartment, I imagine you already have your own bathroom. It’s simply harder to sell a two-bedroom apartment than a three-bedroom apartment.
