Deciding on investment property

“I want to buy an investment property. Do you suggest detached condo, townhome, duplex?”

It depends on your price point. Assume your pricing point is greater, then you may begin to consider your return.

Let’s just say you want to rent it short term. You’re going to see what they’re renting around for a round. You will conduct research to determine how much they rent for and how frequently they are rented.

If you’re doing long term, you’re going to see what you have long term been renting for. “If I buy this townhome, townhomes are averaging $650,000 dollars” depending where you are. “I’m going to make this a short term and this is a long term”. “If I rent a duplex, the average upstairs is $3,000. The average downstairs is $2,100, etc.”.

You’ll just get all of your numbers. You simply need to check based on your location.
